Bought for a quid in a charity shop in Norwich, as a nostalgia trip for an LP I owned in my proggiest teenage phase - an LP purchase I suspect entailed dragging my Nana away from her work in Lewis's café to take advantage of her staff discount in their record department.
This is a live performance of the piece, with the London Symphony Orchestra and English Chamber Choir, with David Hemmings narrating.
While there are some quite listenable moments, there's a lot of blandness and some dreadful lead vocals (by some blokes Wakeman met in the pub?). It feels like it's an excuse for Wakeman to noodle about between Hemmings' thespian tones while getting to direct a big orchestra.
2* - a couple of musical moments, but really not much to hold the attention.
