A real 'while I've got me wallet out' punt, here. I was too old and settled for the electronic dance revolution of the 1990s, I didn't do the drugs and I can't dance, so this mostly passed me by.
It opens with a pleasant ambient theme in The Girl With The Sun In her Head, but the percussive dance track becomes intrusive when it arrives, still listenable however, similarly P.E.T.R.O.L. has a likeable tune made harsh by the dance track.
The Box has an interesting chime opening, and an addictive little tune, but that's not enough for keeping my interest for 12 minutes. Dwr Budr and Adnan's both feel like plodders, with little more than the beats keeping them going, while the two parts of Out There Somewhere have a few interesting moments, but that's not enough to keep me listening for 24 minutes, propelled only by black coffee. However, just when you're about to give up, there's a lovely version of 1960s TV series theme The Saint, to lighten the mood (I suspect this is only on the later reissue CD).
I suspect sitting at a computer while working isn't the intended consumption method for this music, especially if black coffee is the only stimulant in use, but sometimes, I just have to accept, this music was never meant for me. And that's fine.
2* - not enough tunes or excitement to keep my sober interest.
