Otis Lee Crenshaw, is, of course US comedian Rich Hall's alter ego as a country and western singer, so the emphasis here is comedy, rather than music.
So, the musical bar isn't high, and since I'm not a C&W lover I'm not expecting much. But, Women Call It Stalking despite the problematic subject is quite funny if you can accept the character premise, and Texas Not Tennessee rolls along nicely, and the 'love song' He Almost Looks Like You closes on a high note.
But, in between, there's the sort of banter and throwaway songs which, I'm sure, made for a great night out with a few drinks, but don't translate well to CD.
2* - some moments, but like most comedy, it doesn't work as soundtrack alone
