A couple of years ago, the Oxfam shop received a donation, probably from a reviewer, of a large number of interesting CDs in lovely condition.
Among them were a number from the Californian jazz label, Windham Hill, which sadly failed to be of any interest to the CD buying public. Not wishing them to be 'recycled', I offered a moderate donation to be allowed to take them away, and they sit, mostly unlistened to.
Scott Cossu's disc is among these. Cossu is described (by Wikipedia) as a new age pianist, and this album apparently reached no 24 on the US Billboard Contemporary Jazz Albums chart.
It's a series of piano / synth led instrumentals, sounding cheery, if unchallenging, with a sound to me, reminiscent of TV or film themes. It's not unpleasant, but nothing whatsoever sticks past the instant of hearing it.
I feel there's nothing to review here. If you want some gentle, forgettable piano music, perhaps as background, or if you have to keep someone on hold on the phone, this will provide it.
2* - it's listenable, which prevents the one star shame, but it's not very interesting.
